Violin

HISTORY OF THE VIOLIN The idea of stroking the strings instead of vibrating them with your fingers came to Europe from the Middle East. The Arabs had a stringed instrument called the rebab, which reached Europe around the 10th-11th centuries. Minstrels began to use the pear-shaped rebekah and fidel, and the kings kept orchestras of violinists to accompany the dancers and entertain them on their travels. During the Renaissance (14th-16th centuries), there were two main groups of stringed instruments: violins and violas. The viola was held with the body down and the fret up. The first violins started to be strict and the first violins were made in Italy. The great violin masters lived in Cremona, northern Italy, in the 16th century. in the middle The violin reached perfection around 1700. In the workshops of the Amačiai, Gvarneri and Stradivarius families. Since then, no one has been able to improve the work of these masters, no matter how thoroughly the wood, glue, varnish they used were studied. In the beginning, just after the appearance of the violin, all four strings were made of animal intestines, but later metal was used for the two lower strings in order to obtain a clearer and stronger sound. 17th - 19th centuries. violinists: Korel, Vivaldi, Tartinis, Kreuzer, Paganini, Vietan.
