In 2002, with the efforts of the Skuados Municipality Parents and Students Association and the director of the Skuodas Art School, Anelė Raugienė. the Mosėdis branch was founded. Methodical activities in the department are organized by the head. teacher Vita Pajarskienė. Non-formal education in the department is carried out according to the primary musical education program - three years.

The department teaches ensemble singing and playing music with the following instruments: piano, violin.

DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES Traditional musical events of the department are organized every year: celebration of the beginning of the school year, Christmas afternoon and celebration of the completion of the primary education program.

The most talented students of the department participate in various regional competitions and festivals:

B. Dvarion's (Klaipėda), Etudes (Kretinga) competitions; Festival "Pajūrio klavtai" (Palanga), "Lithuanian Music" festival (Ylakiai), etc.; in the contests of birbinė performers and J. Švedas performers of national instruments;

The department's young performers are also actively involved in extracurricular activities of the gymnasium, perform at cultural events in the town of Mosėdis, and participate in musical instrument presentations at the Mosėdis children's nursery in the kindergarten.
